Christmas
Skill Transfer Camp: Tele to Alpine Dec 26, 27 & 28, 2009.
Truly mastering Telemark skiing is much less about the “Telemark”
part and pretty much all about the “skiing”
component. So if you really want to take your free heel
skiing to the ultimate level, and to be the skier you’ve
always dreamed of being, the answer is Alpine skiing - but
Alpine skiing with a decidedly free heel perspective.
The Tele to Alpine camp is three intensive days of exploring
the Telemark skills you already have by transferring them
directly to fixed heel gear, and doing do in all terrain
and all conditions. Through lots of skiing, video analysis,
and specialized tactics, you’ll learn to unlock a
number of Big Secrets needed for great skiing – Tele
or otherwise – such as maximizing turn shape, getting
the most from the skis’ design and construction, and,
most importantly, finding – and staying in –
the optimal balance zone.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS AN ALPINE CLINIC: ALPINE EQUIPMENT
IS REQUIRED! Also note that this camp is for very
strong, highly accomplished Telemark skiers who have either
had some Alpine skiing experience, or who are fully comfortable
skiing parallel turns in ALL conditions, especially steep,
ungroomed, off-piste slopes.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday, December 26, 27, and 28, 2008,
at Crystal. All days on snow from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with
a 45 min. to 1 hour lunch. Meet in the lodge at 8:30 am.
