Our coaches have the skills and expertise to safely lead
you toward your goals. Most importantly they will give
you the one-on-one attention you need.
Our coaches have all reached the highest certification
level in PSIA, AASI and BASI. They are: divisional trainers,
examiners and tech team members. Other designations include:
PSIA National Demonstration Team members, Olympic racers
and World Cup team coaches.
Our coaches are full time professionals and excel in the
following categories:
> Ski or snowboard at the highest level with extremely
good technical skills
> Mastered their skills and can convey them in user
friendly form using multiple teaching styles, adapting
to each students needs.
> Exceptional people and guest service skills, with
the ability to read others needs and give our guests more
than they wanted
> Dedication to passing on their love for their sport
to others and are fun to be with.

Gavin
Kerr Hunter
Gavin brings over twenty years of experience
on three continents as a ski teacher,
school manager, PSIA trainer, examiner,
tech team member and race coach. Gavin's
concept has generated much excitement
and he has been able to recruit some
of the most gifted ski and snowboard
professionals in the industry |

Current trainer with Crystal Mountain

Mt. Alison not only is a superb ski
coach, but also is responsible for
keeping the Snowperformance office
and director in top shape. She is

Jim Stevens
Originating from Pensylvania
Jim came West in search of gravity and
found it at Crystal Mountain 11 years
ago , he is highly skilled and versatile
skier and is a PSIA divisional clinician
and race coach, an expert in ski tuning
he also works for Greenwater skis the
number one race tune in the North West.
In the summer he leads cycle trips all
over the US for Bicycle Adventures |

Nick
Mac Donald
A superb skier and clinician who has
worked all over the western states,
including Aspen, Vail, Stevens Pass
and Crystal Mountain. He is currently
the head coach for the North West Tech
Team, examiner and divisional clinician.
Nick lives on his other major passion
the Point Lavinia a modified fully working
fishing/ research boat complete with
on deck hot tub

Debbie
Sumner-Chalfant
Debbie Sumner/ Chalfant has
Taught skiing full time for over 18
year from New Zealand to South America
to Mammoth where she worked for many
years as a Divisional staff examiner
and ski school supervisor, recently
she moved to the North West and has
excelled as a coach for Snowperformance
coaching not only skiing but our skate
to ski clinics on roller blades and
Harb Carvers in which she is also an
examiner. |

Jerry Kerslake
A native of the UK who has
lived in the NW for 15 years Jerry
has taught skiing world wide over 25
years and is a master of the art or
should we say the arc. He leaves
some of the cleanest tracks everywhere
he goes. His love for the sport and
passing his skills to others is second
to none. |

Steve Olwin
Steve Olwin has been at the
top level of skiing and coaching since
the mid 80s serving 3 terms on the PSIA
NW Techteam and also having been used
in Ellen Post Fosters Fine Art
of Skiing book as a demo skier
and consultant. He has continued
to develop his skills to the highest
level with his unbounded love and dedication
for the sport. |

Crim
Catherine comes from a race
background in which she has reached
national team level in Telemark and
her Alpine skills are equal. She has
recently worked teaching out of Alta
and Snowbird and has just returned to
the NW. Her outstanding talent is that
she can not only ski it she can simply
give it to others |

Herb Cole
A superb all round
athlete who has the ability to adapt
himself to any task with energy total
commitment and fun. Herb has
worked with our youth development
squad, getting great results from
his students.

Barstow
Jeff's total dedication and energy to
skiing and teaching others his sport
has allowed him to rise rapidly through
the certification process to where he
now has gained respect from many top
clinicians. A talented all mountain
skier who will get the maximum fun out
of any run.

Sean
Langmuir
A Scot coming from a world cup race
background Sean represented Britain
for 5 years on the World cup. He was
3 times UK Slalom champion and 20th
in the Albertville Olympics, He has
since been Head coach for the British
women's team and most recently Head
coach for the Canadian men's development
team. He has also won extreme ski events
in New Zealand and is also a fully certified
ski instructor and trainer for BASI. |

Sean Bold
After learning his trade
and skills at Crystal Mountain Sean
has just returned to Crystal as Director
of the ski school, in the interim
he has been a member of the PSIA Inner
Mountain Demo Team, a Divisional Examiner,
Training Director for Steamboat, clinician
and race coach, instructor of the
year at Deer Valley, as well as being
a regular member of the Snowperformance
line up.

Wingard
A member of the PSIA National team member

is currently director of skiing at Steamboat

Mountain WA Nelson brings incredible
dynamics and performance in his skiing

Larry Murdoch
Larry Murdoch has taught all
over the western US from Squaw to Crystal
and everywhere in between. His teaching
credentials currently include being
a divisional staff examiner and two
term member of the PSIA NW technical
team. His ever happy teaching style
flows over to everyone he works with.

David Tewell
David has taught all over the world
since 1970 and has been a PSIA
divisional staff member since 1978
shortly after which he started
working at Crystal Mountain which he
knows the back country intimately.
In his spare time David is an
attorney.

Chris Perry
Chris is an ex US ski team member,
free style coach ski patroller and
has taught skiing on and off since
1980. His knowledge of
terrain, snow conditions and strong
dynamic skiing has proved perfect
for leading our dynamic youth
programs and working race training. |

Chris Hillier is a great addition
to our team, a Canadian coming straight
from Austria where he has worked the
last seven years coaching on the World
cup and working with some of the worlds
top skiers from Canada, New Zealand
, Australia and Holland. He has a wealth
of knowledge and a superb coaching manner.

Steve Moore, A graduate of
Carrabassett Valley Academy at
Sugarloaf Me. at the same
time as Bode Miller, Steve raced at
a very high level before retiring to coaching
through injury. His incredibly straight
to the point and simple coaching style

wanted on our clients. |

Karin's complete and overflowing
energy for the sport of skiing has brought
her to the top of her profession in

Sean Cassidy
Sean has been teaching
winter sports for over 20 years and
absolutely loves working with alpine
snowboard riders. He is a level III
certified AASI snowboard instructor,
successfully completed the CASI level
II Canadian race coaching certification
course and also holds a level III
PSIA ski rating. As our snowboard
director he brings a wealth of technical
experience and enthusiasm to our alpine
programs.

Mark lives for the
sport. A USASA All American Team coach
he also holds level III teaching
certification and has extensive experience
as a competitor as well as a year
round alpine coach. Notably, he was
named 2003 alpine snowboard coach
of the year in recognition of his
accomplishments. Mark’s athletic talents
and ability to work with a broad range
of riders makes him a tremendous asset
to our team. |

Mike Jacoby
Mike
has been involved with snowboarding
since its initiation and has excelled
in all forms of it's disciplines.
Starting in freestyle and winning
many world class events he then moved
into Alpine race discipline where
he excelled as twice overall World
cup champion. Unlike many who
get to this level of performance Mike's
coaching skills equal his riding skills
and his easy going personality quickly
gains the attention of his students.

Lisa Kosglow
Lisa
comes fresh from the world cup circuit
where she has excelled racing over
a number of years, she has also represented
the US as an Olympian. Her outgoing
energy is always present and she passes
it on to anyone she coaches. |

Stuart
Craig
Telemark and XC Program Director
Stuart has been a Telemark
and cross country instructor for over
two decades, and has taught in Australia,
Canada, and all over the US. He has
backcountry skied in the US, Europe,
Canada, and Australia.
A PSIA Level 3 in both Telemark and
Track and a Level 2 in Alpine, Stuart
is a former Chief Telemark Examiner
for PSIA Northwest and Divisional Clinician
and Examiner in Track. A fluidly powerful
skier, he has exceptional technical
and movement assessment skills, and
an unorthodox, high energy – and
highly effective – teaching style.
Stuart coaches Telemark, Cross Country
and Alpine for Snowperformance.

Petra Hilleberg
A native Swede who literally grew
up on skis, Petra has been Alpine,
Nordic and Telemark skiing since she
could walk, and grew up ski touring
in the mountains of northern Sweden.
A PSIA Level 3 Telemark instructor,
Petra has an outstanding eye for movement,
and brings incredible joy and energy
to her teaching and effortless elegance
and precision to her skiing.

Greg Dixon
Greg had risen rapidly in the skiing
and teaching world, and has a well-deserved
reputation for being able to turn
it up on both Telemark and Alpine
skis. Greg has worked out of Mount
Bachelor, Oregon, for over a decade,
leaving only to teach for a time at
Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
A PSIA level 3 in both Alpine and
Telemark, he is the Chief Telemark
Examiner for PSIA Northwest. Greg’s
straightforward teaching style, superb
grasp of skiing mechanics, and low-key
personality mesh perfectly with his
tremendous grace and skill on skis.
