steep chutes
Cat Mountaineering program is a mixture of cat skiing blended
with some ski mountaineering. The goal to open up new
lines and rarely skied chutes on this incredible tenure deep in the Monashee
mountains of BC.
This trip is designed for level
4 skiers only there will be 6 skiers in the cat led by
some of Canada's top guides who are the leading mountain
safety guides in North America.
**The skiers will be interviewed
in advance to make sure they have the necessary skills,
equipment and fitness to ski with this group.**
If conditions do not allow for
ski mountaineering we will do our regular cat ski
program with the group, which will still offer plenty of
challenging terrain.
Our accommodation in the
beautiful remote lodge is outstanding and coupled with
the huge range of terrain available and the expert
guiding staff at Mustang who will go out of their way
to find you fresh tracks and great terrain every run
makes for a great experience. Gavin and Alison from
Snowperformance will also work with you to get the best
out of your skiing and give you techniques to enjoy the
experience even more.
Daily outline
You will arrive at the lodge in
the evening of the 22nd traveling by bus and then a cat. We will
be welcomed and fed excellent cuisine by the friendly
staff who will go out of their way to look after all
your needs.
The next morning you will be
woken to coffee in bed, a breakfast feast and then a
full days skiing adventure on the extensive terrain.
This runs from open glades to endless tree runs, or
high glacial skiing amongst the many stunning peaks that
is within mustangs boundaries.
Mustang staff last year cut over
250 kilometers of roads in their new Pisten bully cats
to access their guests to more possible terrain. Their
guiding staff are second to none and they will lead you
safely through this terrain.
After four days you should leave
tired but with memories that you will never forget
Snowperformance has booked the lodge
exclusively for these dates and based on the great skiing
at this time last year and we anticipate another outstanding
stay.
