Cross Country Skate & Classic Camp December 2010 and March 2011. Dates to be determined.

We bring the unique Snow Performance functional movement approach to both Skate and Classic cross country techniques. As with our Alpine and Tele offerings, the XC program provides innovative, cutting-edge instruction of the most efficient skiing movements. And while these movements are World Cup race inspired, this is not primarily a race-oriented program. Rather, it’s for the skier who wants to Skate and Classic smoothly, in all terrain, while expending the least effort for the greatest power output. Our clinics are geared for intermediate skiers (those who can get around on most cross country terrain) and above who simply want the best coaching available in either classic or skate skiing, or both.

The program is built around lots of mileage, plenty of video analysis, and all aspects of the movements of XC. Certainly we explore the various “techniques” – V1, V2, V2 Alternate, and Diagonal in Skate, and Diagonal Stride and Kick Double Pole in Classic – but more importantly we build from the basics that are already contained in your existing movements. For those who have gravity-assisted ski backgrounds, we will also show how the same skills you use in your downhill skiing – be it on Alpine or Telemark gear – are common to XC, as well. And for those interested in racing or improving their race results, we will get into the ins and outs of waxing, of training for competition, and terrain tactics.

The days will be broken into two sessions, each dedicated to either Skate or Stride. For those who want, we’ll get into the ins and outs of waxing, of training for competition, and terrain tactics.
